Andres Pomart is a Research Assistant for the SHINE Study. His background is in Public Health community health promotion. He has been a part of several Public Health projects such as going to the jungles of El Salvador to work with young mothers and infants, providing diabetes health education in the East Bay, working with San Francisco’s homeless population, HIV test counseling, and providing case management for the Latino Gay/Bi and Trans* communities of San Francisco. Prior to SHINE, Andres was a Research Assistant for TEACH, a study about the Trans*female experience in San Francisco. He is honored to continue working with the Trans*community, and hopes to continue being a part of research that improves people’s knowledge about the community as well as services.
